Helen Sungmin Lee, or Janjaa, was born in Georgia, US, and spent most of her time growing up in Busan, S Korea. She has spent her past 7yrs in Seoul working with sculptures, text, moving images and installations. Her art explores the connectivity of the invisible and restructures sensory experiences. Janjaa's work primarily engages with cognitive memory, urban sentiment, overloaded visual culture and the interaction with the individual in it. She observes moments of stillness in time, as related to phenomenology.
Currently, she is focusing on disassembling linear time, as prompt to interpreting time as a spectrum and multidimensional space.
